Bleeding Through's Aggressive Declaration...

Declaration, the latest album from the Orange County Metal-core band Bleeding Through hit stores today.  I received an advance copy a few days and was able to listen to it for the past week.  The sound is much heavier than their previous release with faster drums, Heavier riffs and a much more intense delivery of the vocals. The album begins melodic and calm and then explodes with eleven tracks of aggression and power. I highly recommend picking this album up, it is probably the greatest Metal-core album of the year so far.  It is available for $9.99 on Itunes or you can the actual CD for the same price at your local Best Buy.

Some good news came on the TV today.  Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to have a full recovery.  As I posted yesterday, a private jet carrying Barker and AM as well as some of Barkers entourage crashed off the runway yesterday killing everyone inside with the exception of Barker and AM. Barker suffered second and third degree burns to his lower body and AM suffered from burns to torso and head, but it was announced today that both will fully recover and be back on the scene soon. I urge everyone to keep them in their prayers for a speedy recovery and to pray for the best for the families who lost someone on the plane crash.  For the article on their recovery go here.

I'm sure you have heard.....

Ex-Blink-182 and current +44 Drummer,Travis Barker was in a plane crash today,  He is apparently in critical condition with burns on his lower body. For more information on the even to here.  I would find it hard to believe that someone did not know who Travis Barker is, but in case I'm wrong, Travis became famous while drumming for pop-punk band Blink 182.  After their hiatus, Travis did many other ventures such as clothing lines, TV shows and other bands.  Travis Barker is one of the most amazing drummers I have ever seen, and I have been fortunate enough to see him drum on many occasions.  I encourage everyone to keep him in their prayers as well as DJ AM who was also injured in the crash. Thanks!

Son Of Sam Has Returned...

In the year 2000, a horror-punk super group by the name of Son Of Sam was formed consisting of Davey Havok from AFI, Steve Zing and London May from Samhain and Danzig guitarist Todd Youth.  A year after forming, they released their debut album, "Songs From The Earth" then went on tour and disbanded to continue with all their main projects.  Well Son Of Sam is back! ahem, sort of, Bassist Steve Zing and guitarist Todd Youth have returned with a new vocalist, Ian Thorne and a new drummer by the name of Karl Rosqvist.  Their new album entitled "Into The Night" was released today and is available at your local Hot Topic for the very low price of $6.99 which is also the cheapest you will be able to find it for you.  I highly recommend picking up this intense burst of horror-punk.  Hot Topic is the only retail store selling  the album, but it is also available on Itunes as well as through Amazon.com.

Anyone remember Eve 6?!?!

Even if you don't remember the name, I'm sure you remember the 1998 hit, "Inside Out" or perhaps "Here's To The Nights" was played at your graduation.  However you remember them or even if you don't, the pop-punk band from so-cal has reunited and played The Key Club in Hollywood last night.  I was fortunate enough to attend the show and after what seemed like a year long opening act, Eve 6 appeared with two of the original members and a new guitarist.  Eve 6 has been on a three year hiatus, but with how they played you would have never guessed it.  As the curtain dropped, the band opened with the song "Rescue" from their sophomore album, "Horoscope".  The whole set list included many classic Eve 6 songs such as "Promise" and "Inside Out" as well as some later stuff like "Think Twice" and a few newer songs from their side project "Sugi Tap".  Rumours of a new album have been circulating since 2007 and Eve 6 is signed up to do more shows.  Next time they are in your area, I highly encourage going out and supporting this amazing band.  For more information go to their Myspace here.  Below is the full set-list from last night as well as some photo's I took.

The Key Club - 9/12/2008

Rescue
Promise
Open Road Song
Think Twice
Little Tiny Everything
Leech
Anytime
Here's to the Nights
Nightmare
At Least We're Dreaming
Tongue Tied
On The Roof Again
Pick Up the Pieces
Inside Out
Superhero Girl
Friend of Mine
Amphetamines
Max Collins - Vocals, Bass

Tony Fagenson - Drums

Matt Bair - Guitar, Back-up vocals

Underoath has gained some weight...

"Lost in the Sound of Separation", the new album from metal-core group Underoath hit stores on August 30th.  Underoath has grown up a bit since their 2006 release, "Define The Great Line" into a harder more polished burst of post-hardcore.  Their latest album contains eleven of the darkest/hardest songs they have ever released.  Sound of Separation contains a more anthemic feel in some of the songs with a much more diverse musical sound than any of their previous releases.  Aaron Gillespie's clean vocals compliments the anger and intensity that is the main vocalist Spencer Chamberlain.  I highly recommend picking this album up, It comes in four different versions, A standard edition, a special edition, a limited edition and a deluxe edition.  The standard edition comes with the CD and a 20 page booklet, the special edition comes with the previous and a 40 minuted DVD making of documentary, The limited edition comes with the CD, 20 page booklet, DVD and a vinyl version of the album and the deluxe edition comes in a 5 panel digi-pak containing two 10" vinyls, a 56 page booklet, the CD and the DVD.  The deluxe edition is limited to 5,000 copies and is hand numbered and signed by the band.  The prices vary with each edition.  For more information on the album as well as their latest tour go to their official website here.

Misfits Axeman is back with a Vengeance!

Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, Former guitarist for The Misfits i
s back on the scene with the same hulking presence, some familiar faces and a new band.  Doyle, along with his wife, Former Pro-wrestler Gorgeous George,  Argyle Goolsby (Front-man for the horror-punk band, Blitzkid) on Vocals/Bass and the legendary Resurrected Misfits
Drummer, Dr. Chud all played as Gorgeous Frankenstein at The Glasshouse in Pomona on August 23rd.  I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the show and was completely blown away with the intense power that came from Doyle's guitar.  The new music is more Metal than Punk, giving Doyle more room to show of his talent at shredding on his custom made Annihilator.   The show was even more enjoyable due to the fact that they threw in a bu
nch of  Misfits songs throughout their set. If your a Misfits fan or just a fan of some good Metal/Punk, then I highly recommend checking Gorgeous Frankenstein out.  Below is a link to their Myspace as well as some photo's that I took at the show.

Argyle Goolsby - Vocals/Bass

Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein - Guitar
