New Bloc Party Album!

"Intimacy,"  The latest album from UK's Bloc Party hit stores yesterday.  The album is amazing, take my word for it.  Bloc Party never disappoints.  Their are two versions of the CD, The normal one which goes for $9.99 at Best Buy, The limited Edition which contains two bonus tracks which goes for $11.99.  If you decide to buy the album on Itunes, you can get it for $11.99 with three bonus tracks and a the video for their latest single entitled "Talons."  In my opinion, the Itunes purchase is the best one.  In case you have been living under a rock and have never heard of Bloc Party, you can check their Myspace out here.

Senses Fail - Glasshouse

Senses Fail played The Glasshouse in Pomona last night, The show was intense.  The opening acts were Foxy Shazam, Sky Eats Airplane and Dance Gavin Dance.  Foxy Shazam was an explosive act of Rock and Roll, not only was the music good but their stage performance was a mixture of fun insanity.  If you have not heard of Foxy Shazam, check them out here.  The next band, Sky Eats Airplane is a band I've been listening to a lot lately.  Their stage performance had intense lighting that accented their music well.  You can find the link to Sky Eats Airplane's Myspace here.  Dance Gavin Dance put on a good show as well. Their Myspace can be found here.  After all the opening acts, Senses Fail exploded onto the stage and put on another amazing performance.  They played songs spanning their whole discography. Pictures will be put up soon.....

There was much speculation concerning the future of Post-hardcore band Escape The Fate when it was announced that their lead singer (Ronnie Radke) would no longer be fronting the band.  The rest of Escape The Fate decided to keep going and eventually recruited ex-Blessthefall vocalist Craig Mabbitt.  Their new album as well as first record to feature Craig Mabbitt as the vocalist was released in stores today.  The album is entitled "This War Is Ours" and is available at most record stores for the very low price of $9.99.  Although the album is a little different than the bands earlier releases, Mostly due to the fact that they have a new vocalist and is in my opinion a huge leap forward.  I recommend checking out the new Escape The Fate, you can view their Myspace here.  Escape The Fate is also currently on tour with Silverstein and Chiodos, the dates can also be seen on their Myspace page.

Tegan & Sara at the Fonda....

Last Friday I went to see Tegan & Sara at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.  I missed the first opening act which was Girl In a Coma, due to the obscene amount of traffic on the 101, however,  I was able to catch the second act which was City and Colour.  City and Colour is the acoustic side project Dallas Green (Rhythm guitarist for Alexisonfire), It is nothing like his main band but is really amazing and totally worth a listen.  Check City and Colour via Myspace here.  After the second act, Tegan and Sara came out and began playing. The thing about a Tegan & Sara show that makes it completely worth your money is the fact that the band plays different renditions of some of the songs you hear on the albums.  They played their major hits as well as many of their older songs making it enjoyable for all of the fans.  Next time they are in town be sure to check them out, for up to date information on the band or in case you've never heard of them, go to their Myspace here. Pictures from the show will be up soon.

Rise Against is Still Going Strong.....

Post-hardcore band Rise Against released their follow up to "The Sufferer and The Witness" this past Tuesday.  The album entitled "Appeal To Reason" is the bands fifth full length release and yet again shows a band that keeps growing with every release they put out.  We live in a world where amazing bands get signed to major labels and then water down everything they put out.  This is not the case with Rise Against, Three major label albums in and the band still stays true to their convictions.  Be sure to pick up "Appeal To Reason" you will not be disappointed.  Rise Against is also on tour in support of the new album with Alkaline Trio and Thrice.  Check out the dates as well as some of the new tracks at the their Myspace here.

A Beautiful Death for Bella Morte

Bella Morte, The Goth Punk band from Virgina released a new album yesterday, the album is titled "Beautiful Death" which translates in Italian to Bella Morte.  I had never heard of them until I went to see Gorgeous Frankenstein at the Glasshouse back in August. I was able to catch a few of the opening acts, Bella Morte being one of them.  From the first song I was hooked, the stage presence was energetic and the songs were something I had been longing for.  I immediately picked up there latest album at the time "Bleed the Grey Sky Black" and counted the days till the release of "Beautiful Death."  The new album mixes elements of Goth Rock, Punk Rock and Industrial  Be sure to check it out, you can hear a few songs off of it at Bella Mortes Myspace here.

Senses Fail's New Album Dropped Today....

"Life Is Not a Waiting Room,"  The third full length album from Jersey Screamo band Senses Fail hit stores today.  This release shows a more aggressive side of Senses Fail with a heavy reminiscence of their first EP, "From The Depths Of Dreams," while also maintaining a more poppy feel in some of the songs as well.  Having been a Senses Fail fan for about six years now, I must say that this album exceeds what I expected from it by far.  You can pick the album up at Best Buy for $9.99 or on Itunes for the same price. I  would recommend purchasing it through Itunes because you get three bonus tracks.  Senses Fail is also currently on tour in support of the new release and will be playing at The Glasshouse in Pomona on October 26th.  Tickets for the show are $18 dollars at The Glasshouse Record Store and I believe there are still some available.

Tiger Army has a new track out.....

A compilation came out not to long ago entitled "Nightmare Revisited" which had various Nightmare Before Christmas songs covered by different artists, for example: Marilyn Manson covered "This Is Halloween" and Plain White T's covered "Poor Jack."  Well apparently Tiger Army recorded their own version of "Oogie Boogies Song," however, it did not make the album and was never released until now.  Itunes and Amazon have put Tiger Army's' version online for only .99 cents.

The Dandy Warhols at the Wiltern....

Last night I went to see the Dandy Warhols perform at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.  I missed the first opening act but was able to catch the second one, which  was a noise rock band by the name of A Place To Bury Strangers.  Their complete set was an amazing clash of smoke, noise and monotonous vocals.  Shortly after A Place to Bury Strangers finished their set, the room dimmed, four silhouettes came onto the stage and the lights flashed on revealing The Dandy Warhols.  They played for about an hour an half, combining their old hits with some new tracks of off their latest release entitled "...Earth To The Dandy Warhols..."  Their live performance was energetic when the songs were rockin and soothing when they played their more mellow hits.  Overall it was a great show and I would recommend seeing them next time their in town.  Their new album is really good and can be picked up at your local record store or on Itunes.  If you've never heard of The Dandy Warhols you can check them out on Myspace here.  Also, be sure to check out A Place To Bury Strangers on Myspace here.

Bayside has a new album out....

New York pop-punk band Bayside released their fourth album last Tuesday.  "Shudder" is the name and this time around, Bayside has a more punk feel to their new tracks.  The harmonies and melancholic lyrics are presented with an anthemic structure, giving the listener a poppy feel to the bands painful meanings.  Overall, being a fan of Bayside for the past five years I have always loved their sound but the growth they have encountered since their 2007 release is something everyone should hear.  I highly recommend picking this one up. You can get the album, a live CD entitled "Live at the Bayside Club" and exclusive hoodie for $35 through there labels website here  or you can pick it up at your local Best Buy for $9.99.  Also Bayside is currently on tour and playing at the Glasshouse on Wednesday, October 22nd.  Tickets are being sold at the glass house record store for the very low price of $15.  Hope to see you their!
